Letter from our Director
New horizons glimpse for the church of God of the Prophecy in this present millennium that we serve, the challenges that are presented to us today, such as that of developing leaders according to the heart of God.
Dr. Gibbs in his book "Leading in a culture of change says "The church of the twenty-first century needs missionary thinkers and apostolic leadership." When he says missionary apostolic leadership he refers to leaders who can read the scriptures with fresh eyes relating the history of redemption to the human condition in the contexts of current culture, which are increasingly multicultural and influenced by global trends.
Today we would say that we need to reconcile ecclesiology with Missionology, the call is urgent, we cannot wait for what tomorrow will bring, but if we take the risks of leadership and submit to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and believe that in Him we will make prodigies.
As director and vice president of education and theological training in our organization in California, I feel a great commitment and responsibility for the development of leaders who, having the heart of God, prepare in our classrooms not only within this nation, but outside our borders and that together we achieve "The Great Commission."
It has been proposed to us as an organization in recent years, to move to the development of leaders, to get closer to prayer and to live a life of holiness. Jesus declared "Without me you can do nothing" Paul said "Ray without ceasing" and the writer of the Hebrews expressed "Without holiness no one will see the Lord".
In our culture we need a new type of leader, new mission paradigms, this requires a new way of thinking and new strategies, it means that we have to break the old molds, or if we use the own figures that Jesus uses, continue spilling new wine on old odres or sew new fabric patches on old clothes, this is a useless exercise, we are talking about new odres, not about replacing them with plastic odres, however the current missionary context needs a critical revaluation of the church and its leadership.
This is why we mobilize quickly and precisely so that our training programs become that channel where these steps to leadership development are taken.
